Suicide Squad

2016, as I stated before will be the year for movies, say what?..the year for peli…culas.. literally every month their will be a movie you will want to see. It is also happens to be the year, that DC comics finally begin; a cinematic universe of its own. One of the films they will feature in this genesis; which releases on August 5, 2016, is Suicide Squad. It has a superb and an extremely interesting premise, bad guys being bad but for a purpose,….How do you fight demons?…with monsters… They produced their film of a villain based team first, aiming to create competition with Marvel, by venturing through the darker parts of the government and supernatural world; prior to Marvel’s Thunderbolts or Sony’s Sinister Six and Doctor Strange ( The first two are rumored possibilities so don’t quote me, the latter premiers November 4th my americanos .I am indubitably eager to see this film, it is the one I am most looking forward to viewing in theaters next year, frickin’ Ben “Batman” Affleck and Jared “Joker” Leto O..M…G o d. Once again, I have gathered all the information I could muster, and will continuously update you as I receive new info. I will provide  you the information you need to know, heads up, there will be spoilers.

Suicide Squad

The Director

Directing the film is David Ayer, the man responsible for directing Street Kings, End of Watch, and Fury. In addition to directing, Ayer also wrote scripts for movies like Training Day, S.W.A.T. and The Fast and the Furious, so you know his writing game is B…a..n..a…n..a ..s. David helped write this script as well. With a resume like his, I am utterly enthusiastic that he will make this film; one of the best movies audiences have seen.. you now what I mean jelly bean. He is shouldering a big responsibility, because this film, along with Batman v Superman :Dawn of Justice; which is coming out in March!!!.. (mental orgasm)..; will dictate the overall tone of the DC cinematic universe. Batman, has some of the most eccentric enemies in his rouge gallery, I presume that audiences will find this installment and possible sequels entertaining.

Cast

The Suicide Squad cast will consist of an astounding ensemble of thespians.

  • Deadsho

Flyod Lawton (Will Smith): An expert marksman and assassin, who boast to never have missed a target. He can use nearly anything as a weapon, with both accuracy and efficiency. Sounds like Bullseye from Marvel right, but Bullseye was created well after Deadshot. He literally has a death wish, and will be a third; of this terrible trio of Gotham, in which the film focuses on. Will and Margot already share prior chemistry , this will play well into the twisted love triangle that should take place. Plus it’s big Willy Smith, you know that boy can act, he is one of my favorite thespians.

  • The Joker

Jake Napier, Jerome Valeska,  really no one knows (Jared Leto): A psychopathic supervillain, that scares every person more less, that he encounters, but at that same time he has this intoxicating charm to him and always astounds you. Leto described his role as a “nearly Shakespearean character” and a “beautiful disaster of a character”. He has what it takes to play the Joker and I believe his performance will silence the Ayer haters.

  • Harley Quinn

Dr. Harleen F. Quinzel (Margot Robbie): A crazed supervillain and former psychiatrist. She is an extremely dangerous gymnast, with a genius level intellect that is in love with the Joker. Margot is so appealing to the eyes, she so so so so so, so so fine and she can definitely do the New York accent, and the most important thing is, that she is talented. Margot is so marketable, I would pay 10 bucks to see a film called Look at Margot Robbie. As is Harley Quinn, she was created on the 1990’s Batman cartoon I watched growing up, and blew up into one of DC comics front runners.

  • Rick Flag

(Joel Kinnaman): An extremely efficient military officer and  infiltration expert, working as the group’s field leader. Tom Hardy was previously cast in the role, but was forced to drop out due to scheduling conflicts; or as some have rumored, script disputes. Joel was a pretty decent lead in the reboot of RoboCop, and did good in Run All Night. Mr. Kinnaman needs this role to gain more recognition, become Joel Kinnaman and not “oh,.. the guy who was in RoboCop.

  • Boomerang

(Jai Courtney): An Australian assassin who created and utilizes a wide variety of deadly boomerangs. He is a Flash villain, that tells a lot about his ability of using these boomerangs. I have favored Jai as an actor ever since he appeared on the Starz series, Spartacus. He will definitely be having an ulterior motive while on the Squad.

  • Enchantress

(Cara Delevingne): A powerful sorceress with a split personality disorder. I don’t know much about Cara, or Enchantress for that matter, but I know she plays an extremely pivotal piece to the film.

  • Amanda Waller

(Viola Davis): An extremely feared and highly respected political official, who has much power within the government. She also has attained some of the most dangerous individuals and placed them in a prison, which is in an undisclosed location. She has several connections to espionage and law enforcement agencies. She is a stubborn and ruthless manipulator, with strong tactical analysis. Also “The Wall” is an advanced hand to hand combatant with a degree in political science.

  • Killer Cro

Waylon Jones (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) : A supervillain who suffers from a form of atavism that causes him to develop reptilian traits and features, as well as other numerous enhanced senses and abilities.

  • Katana (Karen Fukuhara): An expert martial artist and swordsman, who wields a katana; which traps the souls of her victims. She can hear the voices of the slain and communicate with them.
  • El Diablo Chato Santos (Jay Hernandez): a former golden gloves champion and a gangster, who has the supernatural ability of pyrokenisis.
  • Slipknot Christopher Weiss (Adam Beach): a former chemist who uses various rope themed weapons. He has also created a chemical that made his ropes stronger than metal.Rounding out the cast is Deathstroke (most likely Scott Eastwood) King Shark (Raymond Olubawale), Jonny Frost (Jim Parrack) and Batman (Ben Affleck).

There will also be a butt load of Navy Seals, US Marshalls and club patrons. Common’s role (maybe Black Manta) hasn’t been revealed, neither has it been revealed who will be playing Hugo Strange, Killer Frost, BlockBuster and Live Wire.

The Joker

joker-comic
DC Comics

Just as his predecessor Heath Ledger, many people are or were critical and unsatisfied with the casting choice. I believe, just as Ledger delivered hands down the greatest Joker interpretation and performance of his life, that Leto, will silence the critics and solidify his status as the new “Clown Prince of Crime”. Jared is a phenomenal method actor with many accolades, who lives and breathes his performances. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, for his performance as a transgender woman, in the movie Dallas Buyers Club. So people shouldn’t write him off, or be bias because his going to be a Joker, who has tattoos and a grill. Several people who are unaware I guess, of the concept of Infinite Earths, alternate realities, and the multiverse, which is heavily depicted in both DC and Marvel comic book lore, say Joker isn’t supposed to have tattoos. This is an alternate reality folks, in which Joker has tattoos, which I think looks totally awesome, so hush your beaks. Oh yeah, it is also said that Jared Leto’s Joker, freaked out nearly the entire cast, on and off camera, given the creeps and goosebumps left and right.  He is probably the main reason David Ayer hired a psychiatrist onset. Hopefully we can see Joker in more than just one film.

Plot

I know that it will be set between Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. An official synopsis for the movie still hasn’t been revealed, mostly just rumors, but we can expect they will uphold the general premise from the comic books. The Suicide Squad, officially referred to as Task Force X, is a secret team of some of the most dangerous super-villains, that have been imprisoned by the United States government, mostly thanks to Batman. Amanda Waller a powerful and respected political official, recruits these individuals to undertake high-risk missions for the government in exchange for amnesty. If successful in their mission, they live to fight another day and get their sentences reduced, but if they fail, the government can claim completely deniability.

Rumors

Sources from The Latino Review, revealing from their sources, say that
“Deadshot and Harley Quinn meet early in the film, when Deadshot is out to assassinate  an inmate; that is being transported from Arkham. Quinn disrupts the hit while she attemtps to break Joker out, both are then captured and taken to Amanda Waller’s prison. Waller has Joker moved to the prison as a means of keeping Quinn in check. He spends most of the film in a cell, very much like Hannibal Lecter, until he breaks out in the end.”

“Boomerang is already in the Squad and there is a contention between he and Deadshot, Deadshot killed his father.”

“The team is tasked on a mission to prevent ‘bio weaponry’ from being sold to Lex Luthor by a human trafficking gang. The gang is handing over the Enchantress to Luthor who is implied to want her for her magical abilities. They kidnap her and take her back to the prison where she is kept in an underground area, which has all sorts of genetic freaks imprisoned including a King Shark.”

“Rick Flag is there as a watchdog over Waller. The twist is his character is revealed as being in league with the villain, Rick Flag Sr at the end. (This is what I believe may have been the reason Hardy left) It is out of left field. They want the weapons that Waller has amassed.”

“There is a lot of action in the script but it primarily deals with Deadshot, Harley Quinn and the Joker. Flag is more of a government agent than anything else before his reveal as a villain.”

“Waller is tracking down and capturing every super powered hero and villain and it is implied that she is after Batman but he is not in the film, only mentioned and shown on camera footage. The film is being used as a set up for the franchises villains and not only the Suicide Squad. Belle Reve (the prison) is home to many of villains beyond the leads. The script ends with a prison riot where most of them escape, including the Joker. The Joker has a large part in the movie but doesn’t get involved in any action scene until the very end during the riot where he kills several people.”

“The Joker is scarred all over his body because of his battles with Batman, he plays mind games with people and twists [their] minds, [and] everyone is afraid of him even the cast.”
Umberto Gonzales said..
“Batman is some sort of big boogeyman that the government REALLY hates. Get this, prior to the events in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Joker is the only one to really ever meet him or know him and that’s why he’s so important to Amanda Waller. They have footage of Batman in action which they watch. There is a bit of dialogue where they say Batman is the key to tracking down all “the supers.”
Waller also captures Aquaman after he battles King Shark. She tortures and experiments on him and has his trident in her trophy room. I don’t know if they will show this fight, or just mention it, but it explains and will most likely setup for Aquaman’s appearance in Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice. He just might have a surprise cameo in this film but don’t quote me.

One last thing, Joker is seen about to torture someone in this trailer below. I believe it might just very well be Jason Todd being murdered in a flashback scene. It is classic Joker to say something like “I’m not going to kill you, I’m just going to hurt you really really bad”, and then kill the person anyway while gives that iconic Joker laugh. Or maybe hey is warping Harley’s mind and she is in the victim of the vilest of villains
