Woodley vs McGregor UFC 209?
So if you reading, obviously you are a UFC fan. We witnessed history last night, and the uncanny card that was promised lived up to all of it’s hype. I would have appreciated seeing Cowboy fight Kevin Gastelum, but in my opinion he was afraid. Jordana one of my favorites was decided victorious against Carolina in what I viewed as a draw. Which was ironic because afterwards in an uncertain manner the judges concluded that Woodley and Thomson was a draw. Then Conor dominated Eddie Alvarez and made history, fulfilled his prediction and promise, realized his vision and became the first ever martial artist in the UFC to become a champion; simultaneously in two different weight classes. At the end of his victory the lightweight and featherweight champion demanded his second belt, which made the UFC borrow Woodley’s belt. Now the media is causing a frenzy over the prospect of a battle between Tyrone Woodley and Conor.
In the UFC 205 post-fight press conference; President Dana White confirmed that Woodley vs Thompson 2 would take place but didn’t disclose when. Also he said the same for Jordana and Carolina, maybe this time they will fight in Poland. He didn’t express any plans for Conor though, he just stated he would allow him to celebrate and that they would later speak business. Conor then announced he will be a father in May, then expressed his desire for a share in the privately owned company. Demanding that if they want him to remain their self proclaimed cash cow; they needed a better offer to persuade him. He also was not against the speculation of him pursuing a third belt. The welterweight title might very well be his next goal, he already showed he can compete at this weight class; when he faced off in two epic battles against Nate Diaz.
To add fuel to the fire, the day after UFC 205; Woodley the welterweight champ took to Twitter to commend Wonderboy and maybe reveal the next plans for the UFC. Maybe just maybe, this is me just speculating with this bold prediction of them main eventing UFC 209.
Now that Woodley is teasing a possible welterweight battle against the Notorious, I searched for the cards and venues for the next UFC paper-views. I also took into consideration his announcement of becoming a father and him being one of the most active UFC fighters. Though I found information to contradict my prediction; like it will be February 11th valentine’s day. I still believe that with his ego and The Notorious’ affinity for New York; he will want to fight there once again when UFC premiers at the Barclays Center for the first time ever in Brooklyn.
